Art Therapy is a unique creative process where art and counselling combine to aid individual growth, self-awareness and healing.
Sometimes people struggle to find the words to express how they feel inside. Art therapy gives you the opportunity to release those feelings - and to make sense of them..
There is a common misconception that to "do Art Therapy" you must be good at art.
In fact you don't have to be good at "art" at all.
Art therapy is really about using materials to express yourself.
The beauty of Art therapy is that when you don't quite know what you are feeling; or how to say things, your subconscious will guide your hands to do it for you.
The results can be suprising, comforting, revealing, and a great relief.
In Art Therapy sessions you can use all sorts of materials such as

Art therapy also includes the use of creative tools.
I find people get alot of fun using these and they are very empowering and revealing. These can be story cards, poems, and narrative.
Russian Dolls, Beads, Shells - all sorts of tools can be used to help you unover the feelings that are buried in your unconscious.
Art therapy sessions take longer than counselling sessions. They last for 90 minutes. This is because once in the creative process time flies. We need time to work creatively, and also to stop and consider the work you have made and what it means to you.
The cost of Art therapy sessions is £60, this is as counselling, but for the 90 minutes. This also includes the cost of the materials.
If you would like to try some Art Therapy, don't be shy, call me on 01934 642976 or via the form provided on the 'Contact' page. I will respond to you as soon as possible. As
